There’s No Such Thing As A Day Of Coordinator

Yes, we just said that. There is no such thing as a day of wedding coordinator. Per usual we will explain why we feel this way. We can almost describe it as a jumbo shrimp situation, the term “day of” contradicts “coordinator”.

Day of Coordinator insinuates that the person will show up on your wedding day and coordinate it. Realistically it takes months of involvement and communication with your vendors to coordinate the day of your wedding. As you have been planning it for months, it takes almost the same amount of time to coordinate all of the details so that everything goes smoothly. Our couples get unlimited email contact and then three months prior to the wedding we increase communication. This ensures we are up to date on everything. From here we create the timeline and share it with the vendors to ensure that everyone is on the same page regarding how the day will run. Having someone show up on the day of the wedding without all of the important background information does not accomplish the goal, which is to make sure your day is perfect! This includes your priorities, your vision, concerns you have, vendor background, and all the other little details that bring the whole day together!

To other coordinators, by considering yourself a “day of” coordinator, you are undervaluing yourself! Our jobs start way before the wedding day. We need to place more emphasis on the leg work we do to make sure that our couples, their vendors, and our teams are prepared for each wedding!
