3 Wedding Trends we are loving

The bridal industry has experienced such a massive change since COVID-19. What once was a formal affair has become more focused on the couple itself. Because of that big change we have been able to see some fun new trends be introduced. Some of our favorite wedding trends include Documentary-Style Photography, The Maximalist bride, and Tonal Design Palettes.

Documentary-Style Photography

Documentary-Style photography is all about capturing candid moments. It is about capturing the raw, un-posed moments throughout the day that you will never want to forget. This style allows for the photographer to blend in with your guests and capture the moments without interrupting the natural flow of the day. This is not to say that posed photography is no longer needed during the day, a lot of documentary style photography incorporates portrait work in an organic way that feels natural to you.

The Maximalist Bride

The Maximalist Bride has brought color back into the wedding day. No color is off-limits, no texture is too much. In fact, more is more! Some brides have incorporated a theme to the weekend. This can include a color palette, a cultural tradition, or an era in history. A lot of weddings can introduce their maximalist design with their wedding invites. The invitation sets the tone for the wedding itself. Brides have started to mix-and-match color, pattern and textures to add depth and interest in your decor. Whether it is a monochromatic theme or a palette of rainbow hues, dare to be loud on your big day. Flowers are a great way to incorporate color and texture into your day.

Tonal Design Palettes

A wedding color palette is a collection of colors that are used throughout the wedding weekend. From your bridesmaid dresses, to table linens, florals, and cake design, color can make the day more cohesive. This has been introduced in a new way recently with a wedding guest color palette. Some invitations are now including a palette card which allows the guest to dress within a hue of colors to bring your wedding day to life. This can be helpful for those who are looking for a cohesive weekend and photos. For some, there is nothing worse in a photo than a bright color to take the eye from the group to one person. Although for some remaining in one color seems boring, the range in hues can be fun and experimental.

While there are a lot of new trends being introduced in the bridal world and it could be overwhelming, the main focus remains to be the bride and groom. If anything the weddings have moved on from the more traditional to a weekend of love and fun. Bye-Bye stuffy traditions and Hello doing whatever we want!
