What Your Planner Is Actually Doing (Spoiler: We Aren’t Ignoring You)

Happy Wednesday! As we have been saying, we are deep in the middle of wedding season but you are only planning one, yours. So we do not expect you to know what we mean when we say this. We never want you to feel like you are getting ignored or that we are hard to get ahold of. That is why today, we are going to explain to you want that entails and what we mean when we say it!

First, you may notice that Friday-Sunday we have our out-of-office turned on. This is so we can treat every wedding and every couple as though they are our only. This is the same focus and attention you will receive on your big day as well. We ask that you are patient with us, as we will respond when we are back in the office on Monday (we ask for extra grace as you are not the only email we have waiting).

So here are a few of the many things we are doing in the middle of wedding season:

  • Communicating with vendors (introducing ourselves, touching base, asking and answering questions)

    • So much goes into the logistics of your day. We love taking this stress away from you but it does take us time to communicate with all of your vendors, look at their contracted hours, and determine when everything important needs to happen. We want to make sure you get the most out of those contracted hours as well.

  • Building and sending out timelines (both tentative and final)

    • We will send out a tentative timeline to everyone and then build the final off of whatever changes are requested. These logistics take our full focus so that nothing gets overlooked. After that, we go through and resend the final timeline to make sure everyone is on the same page and that all the correct adjustments were made.

  • Completing walkthroughs

    • We do a final walkthrough to solidify all of the details we have been talking about for months. This is important to make sure that there is a plan to be executed.

  • Florals

    • Building your dream bouquet, your wedding party’s florals, and the other arrangements for the day to help bring your vision the life take concentration and focus. Not to mention we would not get anywhere if we stopped to answer emails every few minutes.

While we work odd hours since we are gone all weekend every weekend, we do try to focus on our families throughout the week. We are moms, wives, students, girl bosses, and humans. We need time to unplug for a little while. Focus on fitness, take a nap, or read a book. To do our jobs to the best of our abilities we need to do a little something for ourselves once in a while.

We truly love what we do and could not see ourselves with any other career. We just ask that when you have not heard from us for a few hours, just be patient! We will get back to you and we want to be able to focus fully on answering your questions and concerns. Not shooting off a quick reply while we are helping the kids with homework (or doing our own) or giving a half-hearted explanation since you deserve our full attention too! It just may take a little longer during this time of the year!
