Venue Feature: Sun Valley

This past month we have been at so many different venues all over our part of Ohio. We had the privilege of working at some pretty great venues for the first time which makes today’s blog even more exciting. We are featuring another amazing gem located in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Sun Valley Ohio is the perfect wedding venue for the couple whose guest list includes people with a variety of interests. The layout, atmosphere, and staff make this venue high on the list of dying to get back to.
Pulling onto the quiet country road that leads to Sun Valley you would not expect it to be breathtaking when you pull onto the property. Sun Valley is settled in its own world by the pretty trees lining the property making you forget you’re still in Ohio.

The History
The building itself is 30 years old and has always been a venue. Upon speaking with one of the owners, Jennifer Hartman, I learned that a husband and wife owned it and did all of the catering for the events. When the new owners bought it they did many major renovations to bring Sun Valley to what it is today!
Today
Sun Valley is owned by a group of three wedding vendors! Jennifer Hartman, owner of Heart 2 Heart Occasions. Scott Jones of the Cleveland Music Group. And Melissa Lopez with One Red Door Photography. They renovated every part of Sun Valley nearly two years ago. It has a modern yet timeless feel to it! The neutrals make it the perfect canvas for you to create your dream day. Being a vendor-owned venue, they knew what they were doing! Their expertise in the wedding industry shows throughout the entire venue, every detail is perfect! From the spacious layout to the onsite bridal suite connected directly to the bathroom, they knew what they were doing!
Let us just say we LOVE a vendor-owned venue! Wedding vendors get IT! We work so many weddings and at each one, we see what works and what doesn’t. They took everything that works and combined it into the perfect place for your dream wedding.
The Ceremony Space

This makes for the perfect ceremony space because it is spaded where the couple and bridal party stand. From a photography standpoint, this is great to make sure that you are not squinting and to prevent harsh shadows. The ceremony space has white padded chairs and a paved aisle which is great for everyone walking in heels. Sun Valley has an arch that they can move outside for you to use for the ceremony. This goes perfectly with the trees and ponds in the background!

Cocktail
The covered patio is the perfect location to have your cocktail hour. It is just a short walk from the ceremony area and has a bar plus a built-in fire pit making this a hangout all night long! For the not-so-nice months of Ohio, cocktails can be inside the main entrance. There are cocktail tables, high ceilings, and a lounge area. This is also a great hangout for guests to enjoy all night long! The main bar is located here which we love because it prevents congestion during both cocktail and the reception.

The Reception Space
This area has so many different options for a head table, sweetheart table, guest seating, and decor that it makes it the perfect place to bring your vision to life! They have Chivari chairs included with the venue which is absolutely amazing! The way that the room was set up when we were there recently was all of the guests in the back portion of the room and the parents and wedding party were seated in the main portion. The bride and groom were located at a sweetheart table front and center! This setup was great because most guests did not stay at their tables all night long! All of the different areas allow your guests to move about to chat, get drinks, or relax! This is only one of the many ways you can do it! Your rental includes the china, flatware, and glassware plus the linens. These are huge bonuses, especially when setting that elegant tone!
To have your wedding at Sun Valley there are only two requirements:
You must use one of their preferred caterers.
Fridays and Saturdays have a bar package requirement.
We love to ask venue owners what their favorite part of their venue is, here is what Jennifer had to say:
“Design wise, I love our covered porch and new patio. I think offering guests the ability to move inside and outside (even if the weather is poor) is only one of the many things that makes us unique! My second favorite is the bridal suite! Such a fun space to start your wedding day.”

Between Scott, Melissa, and I, we have about 60 years of wedding experience.
